"We Support the MBPD" is our motto.
- Our BIG project of the year is to provide Holiday Meals at the main PD station on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days for all officers and support personnel on duty.
- provide a mobile "canteen" for local first responders during extended events, such as searches for drowning victims, DWI checkpoints, fatal crashes, etc.
- act as role players when called upon for specialized training situations
- participate in local National Night Out activities
- volunteer to help during special events, such as bike week(s), parades, marathons, emergencies, community forums, etc. in whatever capacity the MBPD deems appropriate
- participate with the MBPD in the annual Cops and Bobbers event designed to promote trust and positive relationships between young teens and Law Enforcement. Each student is paired with an MBPD officer as a fishing buddy with the officer teaching his/her partner how to fish. Many businesses provide a variety of support for this event, with the MBCPAAA offering encouragement and refreshments/lunch.
- help to stock and serve the Law Enforcement Hospitality Center set up for Memorial weekend @ the Regency Towers; this event runs around-the-clock from the Friday morning preceding Memorial Day through Monday noon.
- volunteer to participate in searches (i.e., missing or lost people)
- show support during National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (Jan. 9) and National Police Week (week of May 15)
- help support Law Enforcement United by providing or purchasing items @ the MBPD Silent Auction
- support the McGarry Memorial Remembrance Activities
- Help support the Myrtle Beach Police Department and other first responder agencies by selling tickets to the annual MBPD/FD -vs HCPD/FD charity softball games as a fundraiser for Project LifeSaver and S.O.S. Healthcare. The fundraiser helps purchase tracking devices for adults and children with cognitive disorders such as Autism, Dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease.
- continue our education through instruction provided by the MBPD of topics not covered during the CPA class or topics which have been improved or modified by technology or technique
- recognize officer(s) with our "Exemplary Officer Award"
- sponsor officers, esp. our own Lt. Tommy Chestnut, during the Polar Plunge fundraiser to benefit the SC Special Olympics
